I got this product from a local shop (not by ordering from B&H). A fast experimentation with it, it fits most of my needs with time-lapse and long exposure (bulb) photography. Personally, I didn't know that long exposure photography can be controlled automatically until I read the manual of TC-80N3. Also, in case you don't like the IR remote control, this can be the all-in-one device you seek. You don't have to work with time intervals if you don't want to. You can use it simply to control your shutter.It has four main modes (and you can combine several of them at a time):1. Self-timer: works as a delay timer before the actual start of photo-shoot.2. Intervals: to program the camera to take a shot at every specific time (time-lapse).3. Long exposure: this is to control the time of the long exposure.4. Exposures: this is to control the number of runs or how many times the program you've set should be Timer Remote for SONY carried out. This can be from 0 to 99 runs, with zero being unlimited number of runs, until you stop it.Now to the dark side. These are my own notes and not necessarily bad for other people:1. No on/off switch, which raises questions about how much the battery (CR2032) is efficient, because the device will ALWAYS be on.2. The battery place is hard to open. Maybe it's better to put the battery once and leave it there.3. It does not support a function for a bracketed photo-taking (for HDR) in intervals mode.
